Play 'n' Train

Consistent training is the fastest way to a well behaved companion.  We can help give your dog the time he/she needs to learn appropriate manners.  We will train your dog using the latest, most humane, and scientifically-based techniques.

Your dog will come to play at daycare as usual and then be taken aside for personal training sessions (totaling approximately 60 minutes) throughout the day.  When each session is complete your dog will return to playing.  The program may be customized to meet your specific training needs. 

At the end of each training program we will arrange to meet with you for a private training lesson in which you will learn what your dog already knows, how to maintain the behaviors, and how to progress with the training.  This program is designed to give you a solid foundation from which you can continue to work from.  The ultimate success of the program depends on your commitment to supporting the training that we have established for you.

$375/week, or $1050 for all 3 weeks

Curriculum

Week 1: Foundation Behaviors

• Touch a Target (w/nose and paw)
• Respond to a Cue (sit, down, touch, paw, go to bed)
• Give Attention to the handler
• Offer Behavior (sit, down, touching target, lying down on blanket)
• Settle on a mat

Week 2:  Basic Manners

• Wait at doorway
• Polite greeting
• “Leave it”/”Take it”/”Drop it”
• Come when called
• Walk on a loose leash

Week 3: Building Fluency

• Distraction – dog responds to cue even in the presence of distractions
• Duration – dog sustains behavior for increasingly longer periods of time
• Distance – dog sustains behavior as handler moves away and responds to cues given from a distance

In addition to our standard daycare policies, Play 'n' Train clients must be dropped off before 9:30 am and will not be ready to pick up until after 4:30 pm.
